STRATA welcomes Zoe Morgan to the team as Research Associate for the East Midlands Sites (UK).
Zoe is an experienced medical statistician, neurodevelopmental psychologist, and epidemiology fieldwork manager, with experience in clinical trials, study design, reporting and statistical analyses. Zoe also currently works on the Adult Psychiatric Morbidity Survey (APMS) series, carrying out semi-structured clinical psychiatric interviews and managing fieldwork. During recent research work, Zoe has developed a keen interest in adult psychiatric conditions and their possible risk and protective factors and how interventions could work towards reducing symptoms. Zoe is currently undertaking a PhD in the epidemiology of adult Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), in the adult general population. STRATA welcomes Maria Del Piccolo to the team as Research Assistant for the Surrey, Hampshire, and Portsmouth Sites (UK).
Maria graduated in Psychiatric Rehabilitation Techniques in Italy, where she worked with adults with severe and enduring mental health conditions in a community mental health team. Maria then moved to London to study for an MSc in Early intervention in Psychosis at King’s College London. During her clinical placement, Maria collaborated with OASIS, a community mental health service for the detection and treatment of people at clinical high-risk of psychosis in South London. Maria also currently works on a project investigating the feasibility and acceptability of Individual Placement and Support; a highly individualised, evidence-based approach aimed at supporting people with mental health conditions to find employment and/or stay in education. Maria’s personal interests include art and music (she completed a BSc in Music and Performing Art and specialisation training in music therapy).
June 1st
STRATA welcomes Dr Rebecca Cusack to the team as Research Associate for the East of England Centre (UK).
Rebecca is a recently qualified medical doctor with a personal interest in neuropsychiatry. In her own words, Rebecca’s background is somewhat unconventional, as she survived meningococcal meningitis as a teenager and was left with severe injuries and an inability to take the ‘standard’ career route. Nevertheless, she became an Anatomy Professor during her time at Imperial Medical School, which cemented her interest in neuropathology. Rebecca has also taken the US clinical licensing exams. Rebecca has publications in neuroanatomy, and is currently involved in several research projects in the fields of autism and epilepsy. Rebecca’s personal interests include Paratriathlon (where she may have the opportunity to represent Team GB), travel, coffee, and taking on new challenges.
